RESUMO

Introduction: The husk tightness (HTI) in maize plays a crucial role in regulating the water content of ears during the maturity stage, thereby influencing the quality of mechanical grain harvesting in China. Genomic selection (GS), which employs molecular markers, offers a promising approach for identifying and selecting inbred lines with the desired HTI trait in maize breeding. However, the effectiveness of GS is contingent upon various factors, including the genetic architecture of breeding populations, sequencing platforms, and statistical models. Methods: An association panel of maize inbred lines was grown across three sites over two years, divided into four subgroups. GS analysis for HTI prediction was performed using marker data from three sequencing platforms and six marker densities with six statistical methods. Results: The findings indicate that a loosely attached husk can aid in the dissipation of water from kernels in temperate maize germplasms across most environments but not nessarily for tropical-origin maize. Considering the balance between GS prediction accuracy and breeding cost, the optimal prediction strategy is the rrBLUP model, the 50K sequencing platform, a 30% proportion of the test population, and a marker density of r2=0.1. Additionally, selecting a specific SS subgroup for sampling the testing set significantly enhances the predictive capacity for husk tightness. Discussion: The determination of the optimal GS prediction strategy for HTI provides an economically feasible reference for the practice of molecular breeding. It also serves as a reference method for GS breeding of other agronomic traits.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: It is very significant in orthodontics and restorative dentistry that the teeth are segmented from dental panoramic X-ray images. Nevertheless, there are some problems in panoramic X-ray images of teeth, such as blurred interdental boundaries, low contrast between teeth and alveolar bone. METHODS: In this paper, The Teeth U-Net model is proposed in this paper to resolve these problems. This paper makes the following contributions: Firstly, a Squeeze-Excitation Module is utilized in the encoder and the decoder. And proposing a dense skip connection between encoder and decoder to reduce the semantic gap. Secondly, due to the irregular shape of the teeth and the low contrast of the dental panoramic X-ray images. A Multi-scale Aggregation attention Block (MAB) in the bottleneck layer is designed to resolve this problem, which can effectively extract teeth shape features and fuse multi-scale features adaptively. Thirdly, in order to capture dental feature information in a larger field of perception, this paper designs a Dilated Hybrid self-Attentive Block (DHAB) at the bottleneck layer. This module effectively suppresses the task-irrelevant background region information without increasing the network parameters. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is validated using a clinical dental panoramic X-ray image datasets. RESULTS: The results of the three comparison experiments are shown that Accuracy, Precision, Recall, Dice, Volumetric Overlap Error and Relative Volume Difference for dental panoramic X-ray teeth segmentation are 98.53%, 95.62%, 94.51%, 94.28%, 88.92% and 95.97% by the proposed model respectively. CONCLUSION: The proposed modules complement each other in processing every detail of the dental panoramic X-ray images, which can effectively improve the efficiency of preoperative preparation and postoperative evaluation, and promote the application of dental panoramic X-ray in medical image segmentation. There are more accuracy about Teeth U-Net than others model in dental panoramic X-ray teeth segmentation. That is very important to clinical doctors to cure in orthodontics and restorative dentistry.

RESUMO

Dense convolutional network (DenseNet) is a hot topic in deep learning research in recent years, which has good applications in medical image analysis. In this paper, DenseNet is summarized from the following aspects. First, the basic principle of DenseNet is introduced; second, the development of DenseNet is summarized and analyzed from five aspects: broaden DenseNet structure, lightweight DenseNet structure, dense unit, dense connection mode, and attention mechanism; finally, the application research of DenseNet in the field of medical image analysis is summarized from three aspects: pattern recognition, image segmentation, and object detection. The network structures of DenseNet are systematically summarized in this paper, which has certain positive significance for the research and development of DenseNet.

RESUMO

Here, we report the complete mitochondrial (mt) genome of Antheraea pernyi Qing_6, an improved strain serving silk production and edible insect resource for 50 years in Northeast China. The circular mt genome spans 15,572 bp in length and contains 37 typical coding genes (13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes). Its A + T-rich region is 552 bp in size exhibiting identical sequence with the first modern improved strain Qinghuang_1. Comparison analysis identified only 12 variable sites (5 substitutions and 7 indels) between Qing_6 and Qinghuang_1. The phylogenetic analysis also clustered Qing_6 and Qinghuang_1 together first, which was in line with the breeding history of the two strains.
